My passion for software started at 16 with my family's computer getting infected with a malicous bitcoin miner. I removed the malicious software and entered the world of Bitcoin. My first ever purchase on eBay was for a graphics card to start mining bitcoin myself. Ever since, I've been passionate about trustless, distributed systems, and any technology that empowers people!
After receiving my B.S. in computer science from James Madison University, I began creating websites using Wordpress & Drupal. I started my first business creating dozens of university and ecommerce sites.
Presently, I live and work in San Diego. I'm constantly picking up new skills and tools with the intention of contributing to impactful projects. Specifically, my interests revolve around reforming drug policy, psychedelic education, and decentralized finance.
The Cooper Center is the public service arm of The University of Virginia. Fresh out of college, I migrated all 18 of their websites from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 on the Acquia Cloud platform. Over the years, I've worked with them through various redesigns to streamline content creation. I helped found their in house media team which continues to create videos and podcasts to this day.
The Energy Transition Initiative aims to assist Virginia's transition to renewable energy. I created an online dashboard for them to post research and statistics related to Virginia's clean energy goals. I learned how to autheticate users through the university's idP and auto provision accounts.
While exploring ways to enhance websites with A.I. tools, I stumbled across Amazon Rekognition. Using their advanced machine learning and computer vision tools I crafted a site that uses 20 trillion datapoints to determine scientifically which cat is the best. Upload your cat to see how it stacks up!
